Search launched for missing 76-year-old woman in Portobello

Police are seeking the assistance of the public in trying to locate a 76-year-old woman, missing since this morning.

Elizabeth Potter was last seen in Seaview Crescent in the Portobello area of Edinburgh around 10:20am this morning.

She is white, around 4 ft. 11 inches in height, with a medium build and short thick silver hair. She is wearing a red/pink coloured jacket, black trousers and black shoes.

Elizabeth has Alzheimer’s and has limited mobility, also, she has never gone missing before.  Her family is extremely concerned and just want her home safe.

It’s possible she has travelled, by bus, into the centre of the city as she enjoys socialising and shopping there.  Officers are liaising with transport companies for any information on where Elizabeth could be.

Members of the public are asked to look out for Elizabeth and be aware that the photo currently released was taken a number of years ago and she has lost some weight since then.

Inspector Grant McCulloch said: “We continue to speak with Elizabeth’s family and friends for any information which could lead us to locating her and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen her or who has any information as to her whereabouts to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1134 of Monday, 23 December, 2019.
