Police have closed down Craigmillar Castle and the surrounding areas due to an ongoing incident.
It’s understood the incident, believed to have taken place in a wooded area, started around 11.30am.
Yes – the police escorted visitors out of the area earlier and our staff are safe.

Historic Scotland tweeted saying that staff and visitors were escorted from the premises.
A large police presence remains at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson would only confirm that officer were in attendance at an “ongoing incident.”
