A Cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after falling from her bike on a dedicated cycle lane.
Emergency services raced to the scene on Silverknowes Road at 10.20 this morning.
The road has been closed as collision investigators carry out their investigation.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “Police are making enquiries following a collision involving a female cyclist in Silverknowes Road, Edinburgh, which occurred around 10.23am on Thursday, 29 April.
“Emergency services attended and the woman was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where medical staff describe her condition as critical.
“No other vehicles are believed to have been involved at this stage and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 1233 of Thursday, 29 April.”
