Princes Street has been closed near to Waterstones following an assault earlier this morning.

Buses and Trams are being diverted as police officers stand guard.

Earlier today forensic officers were in attendance carrying out their investigation.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “The area is closed off following an assault.

“At this stage, it’s unknown how long it will be closed for.”
