Man and dog rescued after becoming cut off from dry land at Gypsy Brae

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have rescued a stranded dog walker who got cut off from dry land at Gypsy Brae, Granton earlier today.

The man and his dog became cut off just after 1pm.

A fire crew using a ladder rescued the pair who were approximately 15 feet below a wall.

A spokesperson for the Fire Service said “We were called at 13.20 to reports of a man in difficulty near Gypsy Brae.

“We were at work with one 10.5 meter ladder and one male and a dog who were about fifteen feet below the wall were retrieved.

“We left the scene at 13.50 and the man and dog were in a safe area.”
