Police in Edinburgh have arrested and a charged a 24-year-old man in connection with a serious assault that occurred in the south of the city.

The incident took place on Tuesday 28th February 2017 in Duddingston Park South.

A 32-year-old man sustained serious facial injuries which required medical treatment.

Detectives within the Edinburgh Violence Reduction Unit would like to thank the public for their assistance with the investigation.

He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday 7th March.
