A man is in a crirical condition following a disturbance in Leith in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services attended Great Junction Street just after 2am following reports of a disturbance.

An area is currently cordoned off as detectives carry out their investigation.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “We received reports of a disturbance at around 2am.

“A man in his 30s was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries and he is currently in a critical condition.

“Officers are carrying out inquiries in Leith and are following a positive line of inquiry.”
