Police have now arrested a man following the murder of a woman at a flat on Pennywell Road on Tuesday morning.

The body of Marie Walker, 61, was discovered inside the flat and a man was also found injured.

The man aged 62-years-old is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday 10th August.

Detective Inspector Susan Balfour of the Major Investigation Team , said: “We recognise that this incident was of great shock to the local community.

“We are satisfied this is an isolated matter and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.”
