Former Hibs player Garry O’Connor charged with shoplifting

Former Hibs player Garry O’Connor has been arrested and charged following an alleged shoplifting incident at Harvey Nichols on Friday.

It’s understood the 33-year-old attended at St Leonard’s police station earlier today after officers visited his home in North Berwick early this morning.

O’Connor has recently extended his contract with Lowland League outfit Selkirk, where is player manager.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “Police Scotland have arrested and charged a 33-year-old man following a theft from a business premises in St Andrew Square on Friday 25 November.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
