A search is underway for a young boy who went missing from the Craigleith area earlier today

Police are searching for a missing 12-year-old boy who has been reported missing in the north of the city.

Leo Cullen (12) was last seen outside Starbucks, Craigleith Retail Park, Edinburgh about 1.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 8th August). He has not been seen by friends or family since and we are becoming concerned for his welfare.

Leo is described as being about 4ft 9 inches tall, short mousy brown hair with a scar next to his right eyebrow. When last seen he was wearing a grey avengers hooded top, black jeans and blue trainers.

Police Inspector Grant McCulloch from Craigmillar Police stations says “We are keen to establish Leo’s whereabouts as soon as possible. Given his age both his family and I are keen to ensure he is safe and well. I would ask anyone who has seen Leo or knows his current whereabouts to contact us.”

Any information which would assist us in tracing Leo would be greatly appreciated and should be reported to Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1984 of 8th August 2018.
