Emergency services are still in attendance at an early morning blaze that ripped through a block of flats.
Residents in the building on Telford Drive escaped safely and were evacuated to a nearby care home.
The fire broke out around 4am and four fire appliances and a height appliance attended. Emergency services remain on the scene.
One resident said: “It was really quite frightening.
“We were in our beds and the next thing there was people banging doors shouting for us to get out and we could hear smoke detectors going off.
“Thankfully everyone got out.”
It is unclear at this stage how many residents have been affected.
It’s understood the blaze broke out in a third-floor flat.
Telford Drive remains closed at this time.
