Police recover £350,000 worth of drugs following West Lothian raid

Two people have been arrested and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act after police in West Lothian recovered large quantities of Class A and B drugs.

Officers from the Proactive Unit carried out searches of two addresses in Townhead Gardens, Whitburn and Polbeth Road, Polbeth on and recovered amphetamine, heroin and cocaine worth around £350,000.

A 32-year-old man and 29-year-old woman are expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Wednesday 11th January.

Detective Inspector Paul Batten from the Proactive Unit said: “This is a huge quantity of extremely harmful substances that has been seized before it could be distributed within the West Lothian communities.

“We are committed to tackling organised crime in all its forms, including drugs offences and will always act on information from the public to identify those involved.

“The public continue to make it clear to us that they will not tolerate drug crime in their communities and on occasions such as this, provide vital information that assists with our efforts to bring offenders to justice.
