Police appeal for witnesses after motorcyclist dies in West Lothian collision

Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision on the A89 at Dechmont on Saturday 19th May.

The incident happened around 1.15pm on the Newbridge to Bathgate road and involved a motorcyclist who sadly died at the scene.

The man was travelling west on a green Kawasaki Z750 motorcycle and was overtaking two cars when the collision happened. No other vehicle was involved.

The road was closed until 7.30pm to allow collision investigations to be completed.

Officers are now asking for anyone who witnessed the collision to please get in contact.

Road Police Sergeant, Andy Gibb said: “Tragically a young man has lost his life and we are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with information to please get in contact.

“Anyone with information can contact us via 101 quoting incident 2089 of 19th May.”
