Police appeal for help finding missing man from Dalkeith

Police in Midlothian are seeking the assistance of the public in an effort to trace a man reported missing from Dalkeith.

Stephen Pilat was last seen at Lloyds Chemist in Mayfield Road shortly after 5pm on Tuesday, June 21st.

The 41-year-old has not been in touch with friends or family since this time and concern is now growing for his welfare.

Stephen is described as between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall, long dark hair tied in a pony tail and has a grey beard. At the time of his disappearance he wore a black jacket, black jogging bottoms, black trainers with white soles and carrying a dark coloured rucksack.

T/Inspector Kevin Clark who is based at Dalkeith said: “Stephen has been missing for some time and we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Stephen or who may have spoken to him to please get in touch with police immediately.

“I also appeal direct to Stephen to contact police or a family member to let us know you are okay.”

Anyone who has seen Stephen or has information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101 or speak to any officer.
