Police appeal for help finding missing Edinburgh woman

Police in Edinburgh are appealing for the assistance of the public in an effort to find a 34-year-old woman reported missing.

Laura Gorrie was last seen at around 4pm on Thursday, July 7th, leaving an address in Albion Road near Easter Road Stadium.

She did not tell anyone where she was going and has not made contact.

Police are concerned for her welfare and want to hear from anyone who may have seen her.

It is not clear at this stage where she might have gone however officers are keeping an open mind to the possibility that she has travelled outwith the city.

In particular, Laura is known to journey by bus or train to the London area.

She is described as 5ft 4ins tall, heavy build and normally wears glasses. At the time of her going missing was she wore a grey tracksuit, black trainers and carrying a black rucksack.

Inspector Ben Leathes who is based at Craigmillar Police Station said: “I am eager to hear from anyone who has seen Laura since 4pm on Thursday, July 7, or who has any information that can assist with our ongoing inquiry.

“We are working hard to trace her as quickly as possible and I ask her to please contact police and let us know that you are safe.

“Laura of course knows Edinburgh well but is known to have visited London on a number of occasions and may have made her way there.

“Anyone who has seen her on a London bound train or bus is asked to come forward.”
