Police are appealing for information after a 27-year-old man was assaulted in Edinburgh City Centre last night.
Around 10pm, the man was in Regent Road near the Robert Burns Memorial when he was attacked by a man who then ran off towards Abbeyhill.
The injured man was treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for injuries to his head and arm and has since been discharged.
The suspect is described as slim, wearing a white jacket and had a Scottish accent.
Detective Sergeant Keith Taylor, Violence Reduction Unit, Gayfield Police Station, said “Officers are currently checking CCTV in the area and making enquiries, however, would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this attack happen.
