Police in Edinburgh are investigating following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Lindsay Road.
The incident happened around 6.15am today when a man entered the store with a weapon.
After completing the robbery he exited the store and left on a black moped in an unknown direction.
Two female staff members witnessed the attack, but were uninjured.
Inquiries are currently ongoing and officers are appealing for information.
The suspect is described as a white man. He was wearing a red and sliver coloured motorcycle helmet, a black North Face jacket with grey sleeves and grey jogging bottoms with white trainers. He was also carrying a black Adidas rucksack.
Visible patrols will be carried out in the area over the coming days in order to provide community reassurance.
Detective Inspector Paul Grainger of Edinburgh’s Criminal Investigation Department said: “This was a frightening attack which has left the two female members of staff badly upset.
“We are eager to trace the man responsible as soon as possible.
“I would ask anyone who was in the Lindsay Road area on the morning on Sunday, May 28, to get in touch with us immediately.”
