Men charged following Trinity newsagent attack

Two men have now been arrested following an attempted murder and attempted robbery at a convenience store in Edinburgh.

A 53-year-old man sustained various injuries to his head during the incident, which happened at the A+A Newsagents in South Trinity Road on Friday 12th August.

Following inquiries by Corstorphine CID, a 49-year-old man was charged on Wednesday 31st August and appeared in court the following day.

A second man aged 22 was subsequently detained on Tuesday 6th September and will appear in court today.
