Man rushed to hospital following city centre window fall

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after falling from a second floor window on Hillside Crescent earlier today.

Emergency services raced to the scene just after 7am after receiving reports that the male was injured.

One local said “I was just coming home from my nightshift and seen all the police in the street.

“My neighbour told me that a guy had been taken to hospital by an Ambulance.

“The police are still there and forensic officers have been going in and out with detectives.”

It’s understood that there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “Police in Edinburgh were called to an address on Hillside Crescent at around 7:10am on Tuesday, June 28th, after a man fell from a second floor window.

“The Scottish Ambulance Service attended the scene and transferred the man to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he remains in a serious condition.

“Inquiries are ongoing however there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.”
