A man was yesterday remanded in custody following a hit and run collision on Ferry Road.

Conor Whalen, 20, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court over a motorbike crash which seriously injured a 10-year-old boy.

Whalen was remanded in custody on charges including reckless and culpable driving.

The boy was injured on August 19 and is still in hospital.

A 22-year-old man has also been charged in connection with the incident.
