A man has been arrested following an incident outside the Scottish Parliament this afternoon.

Police have stated the incident is not thought to be terror related.

There are cordons in place around the parliament and it’s understood the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said “This afternoon a 31 year old man was arrested following an incident outside the Scottish parliament.

“No one was injured.

“At this stage there is nothing to suggest the incident is terrorist related.”
