A man has been arrested by armed police officers after he was allegedly in possession of a gun earlier today near Straiton.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident just after 8am this morning.
Armed police attended the scene and boarded the number 47 bus that was parked on the road.
An imitation firearm was recovered by officers.
A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.20am on Sunday, 27 August, police received a report of a man in possession of a firearm in the Straiton Road area of Loanhead.
“Officers attended and a 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident.
“An imitation firearm was recovered and there was no threat to the public.”
