Emergency services involved in rescue on Arthur’s Seat

Emergency services are currently involved in a rescue on Arthur’s Seat.

A Coastguard Helicopter is also on the scene as well as specialist fire service crews from Tollcross and Lochgelly.

It’s understood they have been called to assist a man with a suspected broken ankle.

A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said “We have specialist ropes crews from Tollcross and Lochgelly on the scene.

“A rescue helicopter has also been requested and has now arrived.

“We were contacted by the Scottish Ambulance Service to assist after man suffered an injury.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 7.20pm, police in Edinburgh were alerted that a 42-year-old man had fallen on Arthur’s Seat.

“We are currently working with ambulance and fire service to safely get the injured man from the hill.

“The incident is still ongoing at this time.”
