McDonalds on Glasgow Road has been evacuated after a suspicious package was discovered in a toilet cubicle.

A Bomb Disposal team are in attendance and cordons are in place.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “Police in Edinburgh were called to McDonalds in Glasgow Road around 10.20am on Friday 9 June following a report of a suspicious item being found in a bathroom cubicle.

“Officers are currently in attendance and patrons have left the building as a precaution while the item is assessed.”
