Police have evacuated houses in Niddrie after a suspicious package was discovered in a flat earlier today.

The discovery was made just after 4.00pm today in a flat in Niddrie House Square.

A specialist bomb disposal team from the Army are currently on scene.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “Police attended an address after concern was raised over a suspicious package in a flat.

“We have evcuated homes and the incident is still ongoing.”
