Alex Salmond to stand trial in March over sex claims

The former First Minister, Alex Salmond, will stand trial in March over sexual assault and attempted rape claims.

Mr Salmond attended a brief hearing at the High Court in Edinburgh today where he tendered pleas of not guilty to 14 charges.

He strongly denies all allegations against him.

Mr Salmond was Scotland’s First Minister between 2007 and 2014.

The trial which will take place at the High Court in Edinburgh is expected to last four weeks will start on 8th March 2020.
