Police have raided a garage in Wester Hailes as part of a crackdown on organised crime.

The garage, which offers valets and car sales opposite the Westside Plaza, was raided earlier today.

Locals watched on as cops swooped and sealed the premises off.

One local said “There was quite a few cops there and then I spotted they were searching all the cars in the forecourt.

“A police dog van then turned up along with an immigration van.

“The dog was being used to search the vehicles and inside the offices.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Edinburgh are currently conducting a search of a business premises in Murrayburn Road as part of targeted activity to tackle organised crime.

“Inquiries at the address are ongoing.”
