An MP has posted a video showing Edinburgh parking attendants issuing parking tickets despite drivers being unable to pay for parking.

MP Grant Shapps even tried to pay for parking but the automated system told him today was “a free parking day” before the call was ended.

Other users who tried to use the parking App ‘Ringo’ were also unable to pay for parking.

As attendants issued tickets Mr Shapps stopped them and asked them to explain the situation whilst filming them.

One attendant offers advice that the tickets should be challenged but he was only following orders.
