Dumped rubbish is feared to have been set alight on a housing estate in north Edinburgh earlier today.
Emergency services raced to the fire at the Redrow estate at Ferry Road just after 5.30pm tonight.
One local, who asked not to be named, claimed that dumped rubbish was set alight.
The man said “This was only a matter of time before this happened.
“The rubbish has been reported to the factor but they never collected it.
“This sort of dumped rubbish should be collected and taken away to avoid things like this.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were alerted to the fire at 17.41 and on arrival crews extinguished the fire which also included a wooden fence.
