Bomb Disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion after a suspicious package was found in Edinburgh last night.
The discovery was made on King’s Stables Road and Castle Terrace at 5:37pm on Thursday.
Police Scotland posted online: “We can confirm that we’re dealing with a suspected suspicious package in the Edinburgh Police area.
“Kings Stables Road & Castle Terrace are closed to facilitate this.
Following the controlled explosion they said: “This incident still remains ongoing. Surrounding roads have been closed off as a precaution while Explosive Ordinance Disposal are dealing.
“Princes Street Gardens also closed to pedestrians. We thank the public for their patience and will update when we can.”
