Two people have died following a horror road traffic collision in Midlothian.

Emergency services raced to the scene on the A6094 between Leadburn and Howgate just before 1pm today.

The alarm was raised by a member of the public.

The road was closed for several hours whilst to allow traffic collision investigators to carry out their investigation.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “Emergency services in Midlothian dealt with a two car collision on the A6094 between Leadburn and Howgate at around 1pm.

“A section of the raod was closed but has now reopened.

“Anyone who witnessed this collision is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
