An Edinburgh man who was jailed for the killing of a Chinese delivery driver in Lochend is back behind bars–for housebreaking.
John Reid, now 22, only served three years for killing Simon San.
Reid was freed under the automatic early release programme in 2013 after three years. He was caged again in 2014 for breaking the conditions of his parole.
He has now been sentenced to another year after he admitted breaking into two houses.
At Edinburgh Sheriff Court Reid admitted breaking into a home in Corstorphine and another in Morningside on February 17.
He stole a laptop, mobile phone, a camera and cash.
His co-accused Bradley Logan, 17, was jailed for 16 months for breaking into homes in Barnton, Corstorphine and Kingsknowe.
Reid was just 16 when he killed Simon outside his family’s Yong Hua Garden Chinese takeaway in Lochend, Edinburgh, in 2010.
Simon, 40, fell to the ground and suffered fatal head injuries.
In March last year, Reid’s brother Gary, 20, was jailed for stabbing a Chinese takeaway owner’s throat in Pilton, Edinburgh, in 2014.
