Police in Edinburgh have launched an investigation into an attempted murder that has resulted in a teenager being hospitalised with critical injuries.
Detectives from Edinburgh CID are now appealing for information in relation to the attack, which happened outside an address on Niddrie House Park on Saturday, June 18.
At around 4am, the 18-year-old victim was walking with another man when they were subjected to an unprovoked attack that left the victim with serious injuries to his body.
He is now in the care of medical staff at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and remains in a serious condition.
Anyone who has information relevant to this incident is asked to contact police immediately.
Detective Inspector Roddy Hardy of St Leonards police station, said: “There will be a visible police presence over the course of this weekend as we seek information from local residents and to provide a reassuring presence.
“I urge anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area of Niddrie House Park in the early hours of Saturday, June 18th, to come forward.
“Similarly those with information that can help with our ongoing investigation are asked to contact police immediately on 101. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
