Police have issued safety advice to anyone attending tomorrow nights Ladbrokes League match at Easter Road between Hibs and Rangers.

Police have confirmed there will be an appropriate police presence within the stadium and in the surrounding area to support stewarding staff and help keep everyone safe.

Fans are reminded that alcohol, flares and weapons are strictly prohibited and anyone found in possession of any of these items will be refused access to the stadium and will be charged for any offences identified.

Any criminal behaviour including violence, antisocial behaviour and discriminatory comments or singing will not be tolerated. 

Chief Inspector Gill Geany, Match Commander for the match, said: “We want fans to enjoy the match, but we will not tolerate any criminal or disruptive behaviour or any prohibited items being brought into the stadium.

“We ask that fans behave in an acceptable manner that doesn’t put themselves or others at risk of harm. If anyone is under the influence of alcohol upon arrival, they will not be allowed into the stadium.

“Please plan your journey to and from the match, get to the stadium early and if you’re using public transport please check timetables in advance.

“Taking pyrotechnics, flares or fireworks into the stadium is a criminal offence and anyone found carrying any of these will be dealt with robustly.

“Fans will be searched upon arrival at the stadium and if we identify any offences, arrests will be made.”
