Police investigate series of vandalisms in Bingham area

Police in Edinburgh are investigating following a series of vandalisms in north east of the city.

The incidents occurred between 11pm on Wednesday, July 26, and Thursday, July 27, in Duddingston View and Bingham Avenue.  Several cars and buildings were vandalised by having their windows smashed.

One of the premises targeted included a sheltered housing complex for young people and adults with additional support needs.

Police were called and are appealing for information in order to trace two male suspects who were seen on pedal cycles in the Duddingston area at the time of the incidents.

Chief Inspector Kevin McLean, Area Commander for North East Edinburgh, said:  “This mindless criminal activity has affected some of the most vulnerable people in the area.

“The resulting damage has caused a significant impact on the services that these local organisations are able to offer the community.

“We are appealing for information and would ask anyone who can assist our inquiries to get in touch with us as soon as possible.  This will help us to trace those responsible and hold them to account.”

Those with information can contact officers at Craigmillar Police Station on 101, quoting incident number 0004 of July 27, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
