Police have launched an investigation after some schools in Edinburgh received threatening emails.
The emails are understood to have been sent to a number of school this morning.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “We can confirm we are investigating threatening emails which have been sent to a small number of educational establishments in Edinburgh earlier this morning.
“Enquiries are at an early stage however at this time there is no suggestion of any danger being posed to the occupants of any establishment.
“Police are continuing to liaise with the relevant authorities.”
A Council spokesperson said: “Three of our high schools received e-mail threats this morning.
“All staff acted swiftly to alert police, and followed the advice they provided. Lessons were not interrupted and continued throughout the day.
We will continue to support Police Scotland in their enquiries.”
