Between Friday 22nd and Sunday 24th July a break-in occured at Paradykes Primary, along with an report of vandalism, where several windows were smashed.

During this time a quantity of food was stolen from inside and inquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.

Local officers within Loanhead are also investigating a report of youths throwing food items at the Loanhead Community Learning Centre during the early hours of Monday 25th July and are working to establish if all of these crimes are linked.

A separate report of a break-in to Roslin Primary School was also made on Monday, during which time 20 windows were damaged.

Anyone who can assist officers with their investigation is asked to come forward.

Sergeant Michele Lindsay from Bonnyrigg Police Station said: “These sort of crimes can have a real impact on the morale of the local community and we are actively pursuing a number of lines of inquiry to identify whoever was involved.

“I would ask the public to come forward with any information they may have, particularly if they witnessed any suspicious activity around either Paradykes Primary School or Roslin Primary School.

“Similarly, anyone with any further information relevant to these inquiries should also get in touch.”
