Police were called to a show at the Festival today after a small group staged a protest against a performer. 

Officers spent hours outside Assembly Roxy where Drag performer, Sab Samuel, who performs under the name Aida H Dee, put on his Drag Queen Story Hour event – aimed at kids aged just three.

The group held up placards in protest at the show and used a megaphone to shout “take your kids home” as families entered the venue. 

Around 20 supporters waved the LGBTQ+ rainbow flag to show their support. 

No arrests were made.
