Police are appealing for the public’s help as part of their efforts to trace two teenagers reported missing from the south side of the city. 

Shanelle Andrews (15) and Sophie Smith (14) were last seen around 6.30am this morning in the Slateford Road area.

Shanelle is from the Fernieside area and Sophie is from Gilmerton. The girls are believed to still be together. Both have links to Westerhailes and the city centre areas. 

Shanelle is described as a white Scottish female, approximately 5 foot 4 inches in height, medium build, long fair/blonde hair.

She was last seen wearing a black puffer jacket with a fur hood, a neon pink crop top hoodie, ripped blue denim jeans and black Nike trainers with white soles. 

Sophie is described as a white Scottish female, approximately 5 foot 7 inches in height, medium build, long fair/blonde hair. 

Anyone who may have seen either of the girls, or who has any information on her whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 278 of the 6th May.
