An area on Gilmerton Road has been sealed off by police after a person was injured during an incident earlier today.
Emergency services raced to the scene near to the Aldi supermarket just after 5.15pm and the injured person was rushed to
Cordons have been set up and local roads have been closed.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “About 5.15pm officers in Edinburgh responded to reports of a person being assaulted on Gilmerton Road.
“The injured person has been transferred to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
“Officers remain in attendance and road closures are in place.”
