A search operation was launched tonight for a missing woman in the Port Seton area.

A helicopter and lifeboat crew spent hours searching the East Lothian coastline.

Locals took to Twitter agyed spotting the search helicopter hovering above the town.

HM Coastguard confirmed they had been involved in a search for a missing woman.
