Police Scotland can confirm that a 31-year-old man has been charged in connection with a serious assault.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 27, on Waterloo Place and resulted in a 32-year-old man sustaining a number of serious wounds.

The 31-year-old will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
