A 20-year-old man has been arrested following a pursuit through the city earlier today.
A red transit van failed to stop for officers at a standard vehicle check point on Calder Road and made off.
The van was seen driving at speed in several parts of the city including Telford Road and Easter Road before being stopped in Holyrood Park.
Police officers were also seen on Ferry Road standing ready to deploy a stinger on the vehicle.
It’s understood more than twenty police vehicles were involved in the pursuit.
Inspector Roger Park, of Edinburgh City Road Policing, said: “Officers were carrying out standard vehicle checks on Calder Road, Edinburgh around 10.10am on Monday, 4 May, 2020 when a red Ford Transit van failed to stop for their signal.
“This resulted in a pursuit through various parts of Edinburgh before the van was brought to a tactical stop on Holyrood Park Road.
“A 20-year-old man was arrested. Nobody was injured. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
