Detectives have launched an investigation after the body of a woman was discovered in a flat earlier today.
Emergency services raced to the property on Barn Park in Wester Hailes just after 11am after the alarm was raised.
A large cordon remains in place and detectives and forensic officers have spent the day at the scene.
One local, who declined to be named, said: “We don’t really know what is going on as the police haven’t said much.
“It is quite scary that someone has been found dead.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 11.10am on Sunday, 3 March, to a report of a death at a property in the Barn Park area of Edinburgh.
