American actor and comedian Will Ferrell has started filming his new movie in Edinburgh this week. 

Earlier today he was spotted with co-star Rachel McAdams filming on Calton Hill.

The pair play Icelandic singers Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, who are given the chance to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The 1972 Eurovision Song Contest was held in the city’s Usher Hall and various locations across the capital are being used for the film, including the Old Town, New Town and Newhaven on the waterfront.

The Netflix movie is also expected to feature appearances by Pierce Brosnan, former Downtown Abbey actor Dan Stevens and singer Demi Lovato in a star-studded cast.
