Around 50 protesters gathered outside St Giles’ Cathedral earlier tonight to protest about the death of George Floyd in the US.

Mr Floyd’s death has sent shock waves across the world after he died at the hands of a white police officer who pressed his knee into his neck for several minutes while pleading for air.

Further protests are expected to take place in Edinburgh on Sunday.
