The footpath that leads to Cramond Island has been closed the day after four people broke strict lockdown rules and had to be rescued.
Earlier today council staff erected barriers and installed signs telling members of the public the path is now closed.
It comes after three man and a woman were hit with fixed penalty notices for flouting the rules yesterday.
The group were on the Island and got cut off by the tide.
The lifeboat from South Queensferry and the Coastguard had to rescue them.
Police officers were waiting on them and they were all issued with fines.
