The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service remain at the scene of a stairwell fire on Buchanan Street which broke out earlier today.
Emergency services raced to the fire just after 1pm after the alarm was raised.
No one has been injured and the fire service are still in attendance ventilating the building.
The road is currently closed.
A spokesperson said “We received a report of a fire in a stairwell at 1.05pm and on arrival there was heavy smoke throughout the building.
“Personnel wearing breathing apparatus used a high-pressure hose to extinguish the fire.
“We are still on scene ventilating the building.
“There are no reports of any injuries.”
