Police have launched an investigation after an elderly woman died during an in incident in Restalrig.

It unclear when the the incident is alleged to have happened but locals have reported seeing forensic officers at flat on Restalrig Circus from the early hours of this morning.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said “We can confirm that a 79-year-old woman has died following an incident in Restalrig Circus, Edinburgh on 24th January 2020. 

“Officers are currently in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.”
