A street in Kirknewton has been sealed off by police following an armed robbery.

One local has reported seeing streets closed and a police helicopter overhead.

Live Edinburgh News understands that an armed robbery has taken place at a Post Office and Pharmacy in the village.

One local said “The area is closed off and there are police everywhere.

“The police helicopter is also overhead”

Police Scotland have confrmd they are in attendnace.
